It’s not a cult.
HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT CROSSFIT AND WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE/WOD?
I heard there was a great cult that met in a warehouse. My first experience was extremely intimidating, but fun. I loved the challenge and the competition. Ask your doctor to see if CrossFit is good for you. And if it is, go to CrossFit Great Salt Lake where you meet knowledgeable coaches and great athletes in a state-of-the-art facility.

HOW MANY DAYS DO YOU CROSSFIT AND WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS TIME OF DAY THAT YOU PREFER TO WORKOUT?
Five days a week at least, unless I’m triathlon training. I have tried both the 6am and 6pm classes, and although I think the “6amers” have good mojo and energy, I get a better workout later in the day once my muscles have had time to wake up.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU/KEEPS YOU COMING BACK TO CROSSFIT GSL?
Aside from all the great friends that keep me coming back… tracking my personal progress and seeing that I’m continually able to set new personal records has been fun and very fulfilling.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT CROSSFIT GSL?
The people, coaches, facilities, heated bathroom tiles, dog friendly.. despite the many occasions I have misplaced or have forgotten items (glasses, water bottles, clothes, speed ropes, lifters) they’re still waiting for me there the next day.
WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENT ARE YOU THE MOST PROUD OF (OUTSIDE AND INSIDE OF THE GYM)?
My first hero metcon was “Fran” at 20+ minutes and now my personal record is 4 minutes flat!

Trying to learn how to swim. I thought I knew how, but i’m realizing just because I can stay above water doesn’t mean jack.
